Heavener's Garrick Caldwell tries to break away from a Keys defender in last week's game.

All the Week 7 football games will be played Thursday instead of Friday this week because of fall break.

Heavener hosts county rival Spiro; Poteau visits Spiro, Pocola visits Vian; Panama hosts Cascia Hall; Talihina is at home against Warner; and Arkoma returns home to host Cave Springs.

The Wolves (0-6 and 0-3) are still looking for their first win against Spiro (4-2 and 1-2). Spiro leads the series 29-20-2 and Heavener has not defeated the Bulldogs since 2015.

Poteau (5-1, 3-0) is ranked second in this week’s AP Preps Poll and the Pirates are gunning for their 24th straight district win at Stilwell (0-5, 0-3).

Pocola (4-2 and 2-1) can move into a tie with a win at Vian (5-1 and 3-0).

Panama (2-4 and 1-2) has a tough one at home against defending district champion Cascia Hall (3-3 and 2-1). The Commandoes are coming off a 35-28 loss to Vian last week so this isn’t the best time to play Cascia Hall.

Talihina (3-2 and 2-1) can make a big move toward a playoff spot when the Golden Tigers host a tough Warner team (5-1 and 2-1).

And Arkoma (5-1 and 0-1) will try to win its first district game against Cave Springs (3-3 and 1-0).

Rain is supposed to pull out of the area at 4 p.m., but the fields might be slopped for Thursday’s games.
