Voters in the Heavener School district voted down a proposed $8.3 million bond issue Tuesday to build a multi-purpose facility.
The measure would have required a 60 percent favor to pass.
The final tally was 255 (59.7) percent against the issue and 172 (40.2) percent in favor. A total of 427 votes were cast in the election.
Along with building a multi-purpose facility, the old WPA gymnasium which was built in the 1930s would have been taken down to make space for the new facility.
