It was a rough week for area football teams in Week 3 games Friday.
The only area team to win was Spiro, which defeated county foe Heavener, 39-0 (see STORY).
The Bulldogs are now 3-0 and host Vian in a big district game Friday. The Wolves drop to 0-3 and visit Eufaula Friday.
Keota, Panama and Arkoma suffered their first losses while Pocola stayed winless with a home loss to Gore.
Poteau and Talihina had byes Friday night.
Hackett, Arkansas used a strong third quarter to defeat Panama, 34-27 (see STORY). The loss drops Panama to 2-1 as the Razorbacks head into district play next week at home against Westville.
Arkoma was pummeled by Midway, 50-0, as the Mustangs (2-1) lost for the first time. The Mustangs will try to recover next week at Canadian.
Keota (2-1) was defeated at home by Canadian, 20-8. The Lions host Depew Friday.
Pocola dropped to 0-3 with a 46-28 loss at home to Gore. The Indians also begin district play at home next week against 2A power Holland Hall.
After a week off, Poteau and Talihina are back in action.
The Pirates (2-1) open district play at Sallisaw while Talihina (0-2) also opens its district slate against Gore.
