A 76-year-old Keota woman died from injuries suffered in an auto accident Saturday four miles south of Sallisaw.
Barbara Zachare of Keota passed away due to a possible preexisting condition and internal trunk and head injuries.
She was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and was trying to make a right turn when a 2013 Chevrolet truck driven by Tamara Hardin, 32, of Cameron, struck the vehicle in the rear.
A juvenile female in Zachare’s car was not injured.
Hardin and a 24-year-old passenger, Daniel Crouch, were not injured.
The cause of the accident was cited as inattentive driving. Seatbelts were used by everybody in the accident.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Stan Roedenbeck, assisted by Pafford EMS and the Brent Fire Department.
