The opening round of the state football playoffs kick off Friday night with four LeFlore County teams in action.
Poteau is the only county team at home. The Pirates (10-0) will put their perfect record on the line at Costner Stadium against Oologah.
The Pirates won 4A-4 while Oologah finished fourth in 4A-3. The Mustangs were tied for the district lead going into Week 10 before losing to Catoosa.
The other games have Panama at Antlers, Spiro at Eufaula and Talihina visiting Stroud.
Panama (7-3) was third in 2A-5 with Antlers (8-2) finishing second in 2A-6. These two teams are familiar with each other as they were district foes until this year. The last meeting was in 2017 at Antlers with Panama downing the Bearcats, 29-26.
Spiro (7-3), the fourth-place team out of 2A-5 visits 2A-6 champion Eufaula (8-2) in an intriguing matchup. If the Bulldogs pull off the win and Panama wins at Antlers the four 2A-5 teams are likely to sweep 2A-6 since Holland Hall and Vian are heavy favorites.
Talihina (5-5) is back for its annual trip to the playoffs, but instead of opening at home as usual, the Golden Tigers are traveling to Stroud (9-1) to open the playoffs. Talihina finished fourth in A-8 while Stroud is the champions of 2A-7.
