Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home.
Rusty was a long-time resident of the area, a disabled veteran, a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 188 and VFW Post 8403, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He was a veteran in the Vietnam era, where he served his country in the United States Army. Rusty enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Sullivan, of the home; one son J.R. Sullivan and wife Jami of Quitman, Arkansas; one sister, Pattye Cantu, of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren Darrick, Weston, Reilly, Cailyn and Josie Sullivan, all of Quitman, Arkansas; numerous loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Heath Sullivan; one brother, Mike Sullivan; and one sister, Nancy Seamen.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Gideons International in memory of James ‘Rusty” Sullivan.
Viewing is Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
