QUINTON—Howe and Quinton split their games here Friday night.
Howe’s girls rolled to a 72-41 win to improve to 20-3 while Quinton’s boys avenged an earlier loss to the Lions with a 62-54 win.
The Lady Lions are ranked fourth in 2A. Quinton drops to 12-10.
Jalei Oglesby led Howe with 30 points while Sydnie Womack scored 18 on six 3’s. Ashleigh Miller led Quinton with 12 points.
Howe’s boys won at Quinton earlier in the season, 78-54, and built a 10-point lead after a quarter. Quinton outscored the Lions 27-16 over the middle two quarters and then put Howe away with a 21-14 run in the final quarter.
The big difference in the contest was Quinton went 16-27 on free throws while Howe shot only 14, making eight.
Haydon Hall led Howe (15-7) with 12 points. Hayden Workman had 14 points to lead Quinton (15-7) while Trey Mobley scored 14 and Tyler Cloud finished with 12.
Howe hosts Idabel on Saturday before visiting Muldrow Tuesday to close out the regular season.
