The Howe girls remained atop the LeFlore County basketball rankings again this week while Talihina’s boys moved ahead of Spiro to take the top spot.
Howe’s girls are still No. 1, followed by Pocola and Talihina, which moved from fifth to third after winning at Heavener on Thursday and Poteau losing at home to Spiro. Poteau drops to the fourth spot while Heavener is fifth and Whitesboro sixth.
Talihina’s boys were dropped to second place after losing to Spiro in the LCT finals at Spiro. But the Golden Tigers have been on a roll lately and gathered enough points to regain the top spot.
Spiro is second followed by Howe and Whitesboro. The rankings are released in the Heavener Ledger on Wednesday and on heavenerledger.com on Thursday.
Votes are accepted through Sunday at 5 p.m. for each week’s rankings. All players, coaches and fans are encouraged to vote in the poll. Use this form Basketball poll vote to vote in the poll and send in your votes by email to [email protected], fax them to (866) 505-1419 or bring them by the office at 507 East First Street in Heavener.
The No. 1 ranked team receives 13 points while the 13th-ranked team receives one point.
