WISTER—Three LeFlore County men were injured in a one-car accident Saturday at around 9:04 p.m. on personal property approximately eight miles north of Wister.
Jacob Baldwin, 19, of Wister was driving a 2014 Nissan truck southbound on a private drive and entered a slide, overturning before coming to rest on its wheels.
The report by the Highway Patrol cited DUI as the reason behind the accident.
He was not injured. Three of the four passengers were injured. Taylor Demoss, 26, of Wister was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was listed in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
Jesse Hammons, 20, of Wister was not injured. Colton Woolbright, 22, of Wister was transported in a personal vehicle to Choctaw Nation Hospital in Talihina with multiple injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
The final passenger, Colby Brown, 23, of Poteau was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Eastern Oklahoma Hospital in Poteau. He is listed in stable condition with trunk internal and leg injuries.
Seat belts were not in use. Airbags were equipped and deployed. The accident was investigated by Trooper Josh Blake of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, assisted by Trooper Cody Jackson, Trooper Michael Scantling, Trooper Matt Dyer and the LeFlore County sheriff’s office.
