A Mena, Arkansas woman was injured in an auto accident Saturday at 12:33 a.m. near Octavia.
Kathleen Heely, 37, of Mena was driving a 1999 Mercury Cougar on Zafra Road when she failed to negotiate a curve to the road and slid into a grass berm. She was transported to Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas and is in stable condition with trunk internal and leg injuries.
The cause of the accident was listed as unsafe speed on a curve/turn. It was investigated by Trooper Matthew Dyer of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The car was equipped with air bags, but did not deploy.
