On Friday, eight Heavener seventh and eighth graders participated in Oklahoma University’s Junior High Model United Nations Conference.
These students were assigned countries to research and represent at the conference. They, along with students from other schools, discussed (using parliamentary procedure), worked on and adopted resolutions pertaining to current world issues including global literacy and regulating military power.
The students were required to make decisions based on their interpretation of their assigned country’s viewpoints.
