Spiro and Talihina are the remaining LeFlore County football teams in the playoffs after county teams went 2-3 in the opening round.
Both teams have difficult opponents this week. Spiro (5-6) travels to Holland Hall (11-0) while Talihina (10-1) hosts defending Class A state champion Hominy (9-2).
District 4A-4 was 2-2 in the opening round of the playoffs with Poteau losing in overtime at top-ranked Wagoner, 35-28, Oologah defeated Fort Gibson, 20-3, Hilldale beat Catoosa 37-14, and Broken Bow advanced with a 29-13 victory over Cascia Hall.
Idabel was the only 3A-8 team to move on as the Warriors defeated Keys, 27-6. Eufaula lost at Sequoyah-Tahlequah, 50-21, Jay blasted Stigler, 35-7, and Lincoln Christian kicked a late field goal to top Muldrow, 24-21.
Panama was the only 2A-6 team to fall in the opening round, losing to Vian, 41-20. Spiro defeated Okemah 41-30, while Antlers downed Holdenville, 18-6, and Valliant outscored Wewoka, 68-53.
Talihina was the only A-8 team to get out of the first round as the Golden Tigers rallied past Barnsdall, 58-21. Rejoice Christian edged Gore, 20-12, Afton outscored Savanna, 48-7, and Hulbert eliminated Central Sallisaw, 50-27.
Keota was the lone B-8 team to stay alive as the Lions routed South Coffeyville, 50-12. Arkoma was defeated by Prue, 68-20, Depew blasted Gans, 56-0, and Davenport had an easy 40-0 win over Cave Springs.
Coyle and Paoli both won out of C-4. Coyle downed Bluejacket, 64-14, Paoli outscored Medford, 54-22, and Regent Prep defeated Midway, 48-6, and Pond Creek-Hunter smacked Thackerville, 48-0.
