A substantial change has occurred in regard to FSA late-filed acreage reporting. All crop and grass acres must be reported by the following year’s subsequent acreage reporting deadline.
This will be especially crucial for our livestock program participants. For example, the grass grazing acreage reporting deadline for Crop Year 2017 was Nov. 15, 2016. This means producers may only late-file those acres until Nov. 14, 2017.
For Small Grains, the acreage reporting deadline was Jan. 15, 2017. The final late-file reporting deadline for Small Grains, including wheat, is Jan. 14, 2018. Any acres reported after that time will be ineligible for program participation.
In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, all producers are encouraged to visit their local FSA office to file an accurate crop certification report by the applicable deadline.
Acreage reporting dates vary by crop so contact your local FSA office for a list of county-specific deadlines.
