Panama and Poteau bounced back to win big district games while Spiro stayed perfect in district play and Arkoma won big in its district opener Friday night.
Spiro held on to win at Hugo, 28-25, to improve to 2-4 overall, 2-0 in district play. The Bulldogs are the only team in 2A-6 without a district loss. Spiro is at home next week against Valliant. Hugo drops to 2-4, 0-2.
Heavener is still looking for a win after the Wolves lost at Roland, 45-7 (see STORY). The Wolves are at Muldrow next week.
After losing for the first time last week, Panama and Poteau both won important district games Friday night.
Poteau outscored Stilwell, 55-28, to improve to 5-1 and 2-1. The Pirates visit Sallisaw next week. Stilwell falls to 3-3 and 0-3.
Panama trailed 20-6 at halftime at Antlers before rallying in the second half for a 29-26 win. The Razorbacks (6-1, 2-1) host Wilburton next. Antlers falls to 3-3 and 1-2.
Arkoma opened district play by winning big at Watts, 54-6. The Mustangs are 4-2 and 1-0 while Watts drops to 3-3 and 0-1. Arkoma hosts Keota next week.
Pocola lost at home to previously winless Warner, 44-36. The Indians are 1-5 and 0-3 while the Eagles improve to 1-5 and 1-1. Pocola is at home again next week with Central Sallisaw.
Bokoshe also lost to a previously winless team as the Tigers fell on the road at Webbers Falls. Bokoshe (1-5, 1-2) hosts Paoli next. Webbers Falls improves to 1-4 and 1-2.
Talihina defeated Broken Bow’s JV 38-20 on Monday. The Golden Tigers host Gore on Friday.
