OKLAHOMA CITY—Top-ranked Arnett defeated Whitesboro, 4-0, in the opening round of the Class B fast-pitch softball state tournament on Thursday at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
Arnett improves to 33-5 while 16th-ranked Whitesboro finishes 25-15. Arnett will play Turner, a 7-2 winner over Varnum, in a semifinal game Friday at 1:30 p.m.
For Whitesboro, Hannah Abeyta was 3-3 while Ashley Johnson went 2-3 and Ashton Bailey was 1-2 with a double.
Holly Bowman went the distance for the Lady Bulldogs, striking out two and giving up 14 hits.
