The Heavener Runestone Park is presenting the first Eddie Hurst Memorial Big Buck Contest from Oct. 1 through Dec. 3.
Entry fees are $25 for youth in bow, black power and rifle or $60 for all three seasons. Adult entry fees are $50 for each season or $125 for all three seasons.
All entries will be judged on rack scores. Participants must present rack and echeck print-out from the Oklahoma or Arkansas wildlife departments for eligibility.
A representative from the Oklahoma Wildlife Department will perform the scoring of each rack entered.
Entry fees must be received before the date on the echeck verification. All entries must adhere to all hunting regulations. Youth are considered 17 and under, at time of echeck.
The presentation and scoring event will be held on Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. at the Heavener Runestone Park. Plaques will be presented for the winners of each category.
The overall winner of the contest will receive a mounting of their kill from Jon Slone Taxidermy in Wister.
Contestants can enter one deer per season for each paid entry (three deer max per contestant, one per season.
There will be a chili cookoff at the presentation ceremony. Details will be announced at a later date.
