OKTAHA—Oktaha advanced to the 3A state fast-pitch softball tournament with a 9-7 win over Pocola on Friday.
The Lady Indians stayed alive earlier in the day with a 3-0 win over Meeker, despite only getting two hits.
Pocola had seven errors in the championship game loss to Oktaha. The Lady Indians led early 2-0 before Oktaha tallied to hold a 9-4 lead going to the bottom of the seventh.
Pocola scored three runs before Oktaha ended the rally to clinch the regional championship.
Kenzie Tuck had two doubles and was 3-4 with two runs and a RBI, Amanda Rapin doubled and went 1-3 with two RBI and a run while Chloe Damato finished 2-4 with a RBI.
Kena Chitwood pitched 5.2 innings, allowing eight hits and striking out two. Shakyrah Gladness threw the final 1.1 innings, allowing two hits.
In the early game, Pocola took advantage of four Meeker wins to stay alive and advance. Tuck was 1-3 with two runs and a RBI and Morgan Francis finished 1-2.
Gladness got the win for Pocola, pitching 6.1 innings with four hits and a strikeout.
