Heavener’s hopes of getting its first win of the 2017 football season will be a hard one Friday as the Wolves visit Stilwell for the first time since Oct. 24, 1934.
Overall, Stilwell leads the series 5-2-1, including a 48-7 win last year at Harvey Stadium.
Heavener enters the contest 0-2 after losing at Haskell in Week 0, 30-7, and falling at home to Panama last week, 46-6.
Stilwell is 1-0 after a 52-47 win over the Wolves’ district foe Muldrow last week.
“Stilwell is really good,” said Heavener coach Scott Martin. “They got a good win over a good Muldrow team last week.
“But you can never back down from a challenge and you can never back down from a challenge. Stilwell has got good size and their speed is good. Their quarterback is also really got. We’ve got to improve on defense this week. It all comes down to tackling and blocking.”
Heavener returns home for homecoming next Friday against Valliant.
