Panama’s Sydney Fout rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Razorbacks to a 46-6 win over Heavener in the Wolves’ home opener at Harvey Stadium.
Panama improves to 2-0 and hosts Central Sallisaw while Heavener drops to 0-2 and visits Stilwell next Friday.
Fout scored on runs of 3, 28 and 57 and averaged 14.5 yards per carry to give the Razorbacks their second straight win over the Wolves after winning 41-14 last year in Panama.
He set up his first touchdown with 3:17 left in the first quarter with a 62-yard run on the Razorbacks’ second possession.
His second score was set up after a bad snap on a punt gave Panama the ball at the Heavener 27. Jacob Mantooth scored the Razorbacks’ third touchdown on a 7-yard run after Panama recovered a Heavener fumble at the Wolves’ 44.
Heavener’s offense came alive on the opening drive of the third quarter as Jordan Terry hit Jack Duschel on a couple of big completions before Terry scored on a 4-yard run to trim the lead to 24-6.
Panama answered on its next drive as Fout scored from 57-yards out and after the 2-point conversion, the Razorbacks led 32-6.
The Razorbacks benefitted from a couple of mistakes to pad on two touchdowns. The first score was set up when the officials ruled Jordan Terry fumbled when he was attempting a pass. Panama recovered the loose ball on the Heavener 3 and Rowdy Downs took it in for the touchdown.
Panama’s final touchdown came on a 31-yard interception return by Michael Taylor for the final 46-6 margin.
The Razorbacks rushed for 249 yards on only 29 carries and completed one pass for 19 yards. Heavener struggled on the ground, rushing for only 78 yards on 42 carries. Terry did have a good night passing, however, completing 16-22 passes with the one interception for 80 yards.
