Joe was born Oct. 13, 1944 in Poteau to teacher and LPN Eva Blanche Pierce and Albert Rouviere, a plumber.
On Jan. 9, 1963, Joe married the love of his life, Ella Marie Payne, where they moved from Oklahoma to California and then settled down in Utah. A retired compressor mechanic full of grit, he was also a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. A Gideon member since 1980, his tenacious spirit was much loved by those close to him.
Joe is survived by his wife, Ella; daughter Celeste Creek; daughters in law Jennifer Zondervan and Vicki Rouviere; granddaughter Ashley Creek; grandsons Zach Creek, Justin (Amber) and Jeremy Rouviere; his great-grandsons Iroh Creek and Gannon Rouviere; three brothers and many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his sons Rex Rouviere and Troy Creek, Eloise Payneand Skyler Sorensen; as well as many extended family, parents and grandparents.
Services to celebrate Joe’s life will be Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Canyons Church, 1700 Fort Union Blvd., Midvale, Utah 84047. A Viewing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services at the church.
Joe will be buried at Redwood Memorial Mortuary 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84123. The family would like the thank all of his doctors, medical staff, and the staff at Rocky Mountain Care, and Brio Home Healthcare and Hospice for their loving care and support.
