HARTSHORNE—Heavener improved to 9-4 with a 6-3 win at Hartshorne Tuesday in fast-pitch softball.
Rilegh Pate’s single in the fifth inning scored Makaylee Wilson with the tying run and Shelby Smith with the go-ahead run to put the Lady Wolves ahead, 4-3.
Heavener added two more runs in the top of the seventh to seal the win.
Pate finished 3-4 with three RBI and a run while Wilson was 3-3 with a double, two runs and a RBI. Makenzie Wilson was 2-4 and Smith went 2-4 with two runs.
Makenzie Wilson got the win for Heavener, allowing seven hits while striking out four.
Ninth-ranked Heavener is back in action Thursday at the Chouteau Tournament, taking on Tahlequah Sequoyah’s JV team, Cave Springs and Oaks.
