Newsok.com published the tentative football districts for 2018-19 on its website (see STORY).
According to the information, Class 3A will drop to 32 teams with Heavener going down to Class 2A from 3A and Pocola coming up from Class A to 2A. Class 2A will have 64 teams competing. The remaining 11-man teams will be in Class A.
The four LeFlore County schools in Class 2A will be in different districts, however.
Panama, Pocola and Spiro will be in 2A-4 along with Holland Hall, Keys, Sequoyah Tahlequah, Vian and Westville.
Heavener will be in 2A-5 with Antlers, Atoka, Eufaula, Hartshorne, Hugo, Valliant and Wilburton. Eufaula is also dropping from 3A to 2A.
Poteau will remain in 4A-4 with Sallisaw, Muldrow, Tulsa Central, Hilldale, Broken Bow, Fort Gibson and Stilwell. Muldrow is moving back to 4A after spending two years in Class 3A.
In A-8, Talihina will be joined by Central Sallisaw, Gore, Hulbert, Porter, Quinton, Savanna and Warner.
Arkoma will be in B-6 along with Cave Springs, Dewar, Gans, Keota and Porum.
Teams in C-4 are Bokoshe, Bowlegs, Graham Dustin, Midway, Paoli, Sasakwa, Webbers Falls and Wilson-Henryetta.
The districts have not been approved by the OSSAA. The districts will be finalized at the Aug. 4 board meeting. Schools have until Aug. 4 to protest the latest ADM.
