The Heavener Utilities Authority again discussed the ongoing contract negotiations with OK Foods during an executive session during Thursday’s meeting.
The HUA also approved the promotion of Dallas Snow from maintenance to operations with a salary of $13.50 per hour.
Nothing about the negotiations with OK was discussed in open session.
Water superintendent Tim DeWitt said the HUA will need to replace a relay pump at a cost between $17,000 to $20,000. That item will be brought up in the next HUA meeting.
In the City Council meeting, the council members agreed to increase the speed limit on East Avenue I from 20 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour. They also agreed to increase the speed limit on Old Highway 59 from 30 mph to 45 mph on the stretch next to the Reeder Thornton Agriplex.
