Members of the Carl Albert State College Enrollment Center, along with colleges and universities from across the region, were in attendance to represent their respective institutions. CASC TRIO staff members were also on hand to assist their participants in attendance.
According to Leroy Nolan, CASC Director of High School/College Relations, the annual college fairs are a great chance for area students to learn more about higher education opportunities. He explained that with correct information in hand, students and their parents can compare colleges and make wise decisions.
Jay Falkner, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, said, “We encourage students and their families to do their homework, and we hope they realize that graduating from Carl Albert will pay off now and in the future.
“Our faculty and staff are here to give students individualized help from start to finish. For some of our students, they earn a certificate or degree and head straight to the work force. For many of our students, they graduate from Carl Albert and then transfer to one of the colleges represented at our College Fair to continue their education.”
Garry M. Ivey, Carl Albert State College President explained that transfer agreements with various universities are in existence, and others are being created and/or updated to ensure that Carl Albert graduates have a smooth transition following CASC graduation. In addition, Ivey said that for many Carl Albert students, transfer scholarships may be available as students go from Carl Albert to a university system.
