POTEAU–Four Carl Albert State College students were honored at the All-Oklahoma/USA Academic Team and OACC Scholarships Student Recognition Ceremony.
Students named to the academic team from Carl Albert State College were Hannah Franklin of Stigler, Erin Hearn of Red Oak, and McCaul Oft of Sallisaw. Ronni Joe Killion of Heavener was awarded an Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) tuition waiver scholarship.
The All-Oklahoma Academic Team program recognizes outstanding two-year college students nominated by their college president. The state program is a division of an international program sponsored annually by Phil Theta Kappa, USA TODAY, and the American Association of Community Colleges. Annette Staats, Carl Albert’s Phi Theta Kappa advisor, explained that PTK students from across Oklahoma are selected to represent their community colleges on the All-USA Academic team.
President Garry M. Ivey stated, “It is an honor to nominate students each year for this prestigious program. We appreciate their hard work, and we are confident they will continue to be successful as they move forward.”
