The unemployment percentage dropped for 41 out of the 77 counties in Oklahoma, including LeFlore County, in the February report by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
LeFlore County was 12th in the state in unemployment at 6.1 percent, which was a drop from the 6.4 percent figure in January. In February of 2014, LeFlore County’s rate was 8.4 percent.
The work force for the county is 19,588 with 18,400 employed and 1,188 out of work.
McIntosh County had the highest rate in the state at 8.7 percent, followed by Choctaw at 7.5 percent and Latimer at 7.3.
Cimarron had the best figures in the state, showing a 2.0 percent unemployment rate.
