WISTER–When a customer at Mama Red’s found $20 on the floor of the café, he started a “Pay It Forward” campaign that eventually benefitted the Wister High School Choir.
Instead of letting someone pay for their meal, other customers began giving money to someone who needed it. Finally, a decision was made to donate the money to the WHS Choir to help them as they travel to state contest.
Pictured below is the wall behind the cash register where donations were kept. The total donated was almost $200 and included a 1000 Russian Ruble bill. While choir members were at Mama Red’s to collect the donation, another customer donated $20 to choir director Bill King.

This kind of support from the community brought tears to the eyes of several of the choir members.
