TECUMSEH—Poteau’s baseball team improved to 3-0 in the Tecumseh Tournament on Friday with a 12-5 win over McLoud.
The Pirates are scheduled to close out play against Byng on Saturday, weather permitting. Overall, Poteau is now 17-4. The Pirates defeated Tecumseh, 12-1, and Sante Fe, 15-1, on Thursday.
Poteau led only 6-5 going into the seventh inning before scoring six runs in its final at bat.
Kade McMillin slammed a pair of doubles and was 3-4 to lead the Pirates. Justice Goldman slammed a home run, Brynn Hammon went 3-4 with three runs scored, a double and two RBI, Roger Barcheers also hit a double and was 2-4 with three RBI and two runs scored for the Pirates.
Poteau is back at home on Monday, taking on Vian, ranked second in Class 3A.
