LeFLORE—LeFlore went undefeated in sweeping its district baseball tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Savages defeated McCurtain, 11-0, in their opening game before downing Kinta, 11-1, in the final game on Tuesday. In the championship game Wednesday, LeFlore advanced to next week’s regional tournament with a 6-3 victory over Kinta.
Blake Crase was the winning pitcher and hit a solo home run in the opener against McCurtain. Crase went the distance, striking out nine and allowing only one hit.
Crase hit a solo home run in the third inning, after Cody Crase had belted a two-run shot to put LeFlore ahead, 4-0. The Savages put the game away with a seven-run fourth inning.
Cody Crase was 2-3 with the home run, two RBI and three runs scored. Blake Crase went 2-2 with the homer, two RBI and a run scored while Travis White and Mason Warren were each 1-3 and Daniel Ingle had a 1-2 game.
In Tuesday’s win over Kinta, Cody Crase pitched five innings and struck out 10 before getting relief held from David Morris in the sixth.
Mason Warren banged out a triple and had four RBI while going 3-4 for LeFlore. Dawson Warren had a double and a triple while having a 2-4 game with a RBI, Blake Crase knocked in two runs and was 2-3 while Morris went 1-2.
In Wednesday’s championship game, Kintan took a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning before the Savages responded with four runs in the sixth inning to clinch the win.
Cody Crase pitched the final 2.2 innings to get the win in relief of Morris, who went the first 4.1 inning with seven strike outs.
White was 2-3 with a RBI, Mason Warren knocked in two runs and was 1-3, Morris also had a pair of RBI and went 1-4, Dawson Warren had a 1-2 game, Jaden Wolfe was 1-3 and J.P. Johnson had a RBI.
LeFlore will play in the regional tournament next week at a site and time to be determined.
