Can you turn an old wooden pallet into a bird house or bird feeder? Do you create whimsical yard signs? Make row markers for the garden?
Do you knit/crochet baby booties and bonnets? Are doll clothes your favorite to sew? Like making hair ribbons and dazzle items? Quilts, aprons, table runners, toaster covers, rugs, reusable shopping bags, decoupage, macramé, decorated flower pots, wood pull/push toys, rocking horses, pet beds or wine racks.
These are some ideas for the first Heavener Farmer’s Market/Craft Fair, on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Heavener Deer Pen.
Subsequent Farmers Markets/Craft Fairs will be held every Saturday as long as there is an interest. It’s early for many vegetables and fruits but eggs, home-made soaps, and some of last summer’s jams and jellies would be welcome starters.
No commercial or yard sale items and no live animals. All items for sale must be homegrown or homemade.
Vendors are encouraged to sign up at the Heavener Chamber of Commerce on or before Saturday. The market is free and those interested must register prior to setting up, which will begin at 7 a.m.
Electricity will be available and vendors are responsible for keeping their space clean and tidy while at the market.
