POTEAU–The Friends of the Kerr Mansion have scheduled a clean-up day for April 18 starting at 8 a.m. and going through 2 p.m.
The day will be used to clean the Mansion both inside and out and prepare for the busy season of bookings that have been made starting the last weekend of this month.
“We are excited about all of the interest we have had in the Mansion and the multiple bookings for weddings and events through the spring and early summer,” said Kenneth Corn, chair of the Friends group. “Having all of these events coming at once requires us to seek volunteers to prepare for the Mansion and the grounds for the guest who have planned special events there.”
The Friends are hoping to have the same type of response from the community that it received last fall.
“The turnout was fantastic in the fall and a repeat performance would allow us to put our best foot forward,” said Neil Brannon, a member of the board.
The Friends need help in staging and cleaning the Mansion. Minor lawn care will be addressed as well as general repairs. Volunteers are urged to bring lawn tools and any cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners, broomsand mops.
