The Oklahoma State University Extension Service will conduct a canning workshop on May 6 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Stapp-Zoe Community Center, located 13 miles south of Heavener on Hwy 59.
The class costs $15 which includes the food for canning, lunch and a Ball Canning Book. Pre-registration is required. You may register by calling the LeFlore County OSU Extension office at 918-647-8231 or emailing [email protected].
This is a hands-on workshop. You will learn to can using a pressure canner and a water bath canner.
LeFlore County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, Danette Russell, and OSU Extension State Foods Specialist, Dr. Barbara Brown, will instruct participants in the most up to date proven canning methods.
