GANS—Cameron swept Gans and Arkoma to win its Class A baseball district here on Thursday.
The Yellowjackets opened with an 11-3 win over Gans after the Grizzlies were defeated by Arkoma, 6-3, in the first game of the day. It was the first postseason win for the Mustangs in over 10 years.
The Mustangs had only won two games this season prior to the victory.
Cameron then swept Arkoma in both games to get the district tournament. The Jackets won the first game, 10-0, before taking a 12-0 victory in the championship game.
Dillon Jackson was the winning pitcher in the second game and held Arkoma without a hit over three innings.
Trey Sebo was 3-3 for Cameron.
Samuel Humphries also threw a no hitter in the first win over Arkoma, going four inning and striking out 11. Sebo was 2-3.
Lomon was the winning pitcher for Cameron against Gans as Humphries went 3-4 with three RBI.
Seth Key was the winner for Arkoma in the win over Gans, striking out 12 and allowing only six hits. He was also 2-4 batting while Caleb Bise was 2-3 with a bases-loaded double to score three runs and give the Mustangs the lead for good.
