The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for LeFlore County on Wednesday.
The warning is in effect from Wednesday at noon through Wednesday night.
The warning calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain for LeFlore County along with Pushmataha and Latimer counties in Oklahoma.
Rain is expected to expand across and northwest Arkansas on Tuesday night and into Wednesday. The rain will transition to freezing rain, sleet and finally snow during Wednesday afternoon and evening as cold air moves into the region behind a cold front.
Wintry precipitation will continue into Wednesday night before tapering off. Up to two to three inches of snow and sleet is expected with less than a quarter of inch of ice.
Higher terrain areas will see the greatest accumulations and impacts from the storm.
Travel will become very hazardous or impossible and power outages are possible.
