McALESTER—Cody Shore was the medalist and Poteau blew away the competition at the McAlester Invitational Tournament on Monday.
The Pirates shot a 302 to win by 30 strokes over second-place Skiatook, which carded a 332. Durant was third at 335 and McAlester came in fourth at 350.
Poteau golfers finished first and second and had four of the best eight scores in the tournament. Shore, the defending 4A state champion, shot a 69 to come in first while freshman Ryan Ward was second with a 75.
Bryson Terry was sixth with a 78 and Bryce Weldon was eighth with an 80. Other Poteau scores were Connor Bandy with a 90 and Jerry Loggains had a 92.
