SEMINOLE—Poteau split a pair of games on Saturday in a three-way at Seminole.
The Pirates downed Oktaha in the first game, 5-4, before losing for the first time in the second game to the hosts, 4-3.
Poteau, now 5-1, is scheduled to visit Muldrow on Monday before hosting Sallisaw on Tuesday and traveling to Heavener on Thursday.
Against Oktaha, Justice Goldman’s sacrifice fly brought in Roger Barcheers with the winning run as the Pirates scored twice in the bottom half of the seventh to get the win.
Jaden Collins was the winning pitcher in relief of Mason Grimm. Collins threw four innings, sturck out two, allowed no runs and two hits.
Ben Klutts was 2-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Kade McMillin also had a 2-4 game while Barcheers was 1-4 with two runs scored.
The Pirates took the lead in the second game by scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Poteau upped the lead to 3-0 with a run in the fifth before the Chieftains rallied to score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Klutts was 3-4 and pitched the first five innings with Barcheers providing the relief in the sixth inning. Goldman was 3-4 with a double for Poteau.
