LeFLORE—Howe and Whitesboro both won big in the opening round of the LeFlore Lady Savage Classic on Thursday.
Howe blasted Kinta, 11-0, while Whitesboro defeated Indianola, 14-4.
Howe and Whitesboro play at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
In Howe’s win, Kerstein Hall and Braden Dorsey were both 2-2 while Dorsey had three RBI. Lauren Ford went 2-3 for the Lady Lions.
Whitesboro jumped ahead by scoring three runs in the first, added four in the second, six in the third and one in the fourth. Indianola countered with a single run in the second and third innings and two more in the fourth.
Bailee McConnell had a double, knocked in a pair of runs and scored three times in a 2-2 game, Samantha Simons was 1-1, Lexey Branscum scored three runs and was 1-2 with a RBI, Emily Wall banged a triple and scored twice while going 1-2, Lauren Harper had four RBI and was 1-3, Breanna Gibson was 1-3 with three runs and a RBI, Abigail Phillips was 1-3 with two RBI, Shania McKosky was 1-3 with a RBI, Molly Young had two RBI and scored a run, Mariah Frederick had a RBI and scored a run while Roxanne Merle also scored a run.
Harper was the winning pitcher.
