EDMOND—Funeral services for Eloine Veatrice Dial Crews, 104, of Edmond (formerly of Poteau) are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau.
Interment is at the Oakland Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
She passed away Feb. 26, 2015, in Bellevue Health & Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City and was born Jan. 19, 1911 in Holland, Effingham, Ill. to Eli Valentine and Mary Jane Netta (Sweazy) Dial, the only girl among four boys.
She came to Heavener with her family in 1913 and graduated from Heavener High School. In 1929 she married a local young man, Roland Alford Crews of Poteau and in 1952 the family moved to Poteau where she became active in the community with Garden Club, Eastern Star, Country Club and was an active member in the First Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Roland Crews; and her four brothers, Rosco, Leland, Denzel and James Dial all of Heavener.
Survivors are her only child and son-in-law Merry Roline and Jim Askew of Edmond; her grandson Steve and wife Michelle Askew of McKinney, Texas; eight great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild; special nephew Jim Dial of San Francisco, Calif. and his three children, Jim, Bob and Carrie; and a special friend, Peggy Talley of Poteau.
