Unemployment dropped in LeFlore County for December according to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission’s report.
LeFlore County had the seventh highest unemployment rate in the state. December’s percentage was 6.4 percent, while November’s report showed a percentage of 7.0. In October, the county was at 6.6 percent and in December of 2013, LeFlore County’s percentage was at 6.8 percent.

LeFlore County had a work force of 18,820. Of that total, 17,622 were employed in December while 1,198 were out of work.
Overall, 36 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties showed an increase in unemployment in December.
McCurtain County led the state with an unemployment percentage of 7.5 percent. McIntosh was second at 7.0 and Latimer was third at 6.8.
Beaver and Ellis counties had the lowest unemployment percentage at 2.0 percent.
