Six LeFlore County basketball teams won district tournaments on Saturday and nine teams are moving on to the Class A and B regionals this week.
District tournaments for 4A, 3A and 2A also start this week.
The Arkoma girls and Cameron boys won district championships in Class A while both Whitesboro and LeFlore teams captured Class B district crowns. Bokoshe’s boys and girls advance to the regional tournament in the loser’s bracket along with the Arkoma boys.
In Class A, the Arkoma and Cameron teams will play at Antlers. The Arkoma boys play in a loser’s bracket game at 3 p.m. while the Lady Mustangs play at 6:30 p.m. and the Cameron boys at 8 p.m.
Whitesboro’s teams are going to the regional at Bennington. The Lady Bulldogs play at 6:30 p.m. while the boys play at 8 p.m.
Bokoshe and LeFlore are at a regional tournament at Calvin. In loser’s bracket, Bokoshe’s girls play at 1:30 p.m. with the boys tipping off at 3 p.m. LeFlore’s girls play at 6:30 p.m. with the boys playing at 8 p.m.
In Class 4A district tournament action, Poteau plays at Muldrow on Friday. In Class 3A, Heavener visits Hartshorne on Friday and Spiro goes to Salina on Saturday.
Howe and Talihina host 2A district tournaments while Wister travels to Haworth.
At Howe, both Panama teams play Porter on Friday with the winners taking on the Howe teams on Saturday. Talihina’s boys and the Pocola girls got a bye in the Talihina district. The Crowder and Talihina girls play on Friday while the Pocola and Crowder boys face off.
Wister’s girls and the Haworth boys received a bye. The Haworth and Ft. Towson girls along with the Wister and Ft. Towson boys play on Friday.
