POTEAU—A celebration of the life of Evangeline Lucy Krause Williams, 84, of Poteau will be held on March 12 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Poteau, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
She was born on July 21, 1930 in Los Angeles to Fred and Mabel (Foale) Krause and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 in Poteau.
She was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She graduated from Northeastern University 40 years after High School graduation with a BA in English Education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hershel Williams; son, Thomas Weldon Williams; brothers, Floyd Lorraine Krause and Stanley E. Krause; and her parents.
Survivors are two daughters, Cynthia Myhre of Tahlequah and Lenora Williams of Poteau; granddaughters, Jennifer Myhre of Tulsa and Renee and Will White of Broken Arrow; great grandson, Evan William; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Krause of Beaumont, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at the First Presbyterian Church of Poteau and the Salvation Army of Poteau.
