The LeFlore County Conservation District will be accepting applications for cost share assistance for the construction of new livestock ponds until March 6.
The district can assist with the cost of constructing new ponds.
“Due to limited funds, the cost share rate will be 60% with a maximum of $1,000 per farm.” according to Brandon Faulkenberry, District Manager.
The state requires that applicants own or operate at least 20 acres and produce $1,000 in agriculture products per year.
Producers meeting these requirements and in need of livestock water are encouraged to make application. After the deadline, applications will be evaluated and if approved a contract will be developed for construction of the pond.
For any questions or to make application call the LeFlore County Conservation District or the Natural Resources Conservation Service at (918) 647-3554 ext 3 or come by the office in person at 109 Kerr Blvd, (Poteau Industrial Park).
