The 2015 higher education day at the State Capitol took place on Tuesday.
Chancellor Glen D. Johnson of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education welcomed students, college personnel, speakers for the event, and Oklahoma senators and representatives in attendance.
Speakers included Governor Mary Fallin, Lt. Governor Todd Lamb, Chair of the State Regents Mike Turpen, Speaker of the House Jeff Hickman, and Chair of the Council of Presidents Larry Rice along with several students. The keynote remarks were from Norm Augustine. He is the retired CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation and former adviser to Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
Carl Albert students attending the event visited with representatives and senators throughout the day. CASC students included Hannah Beames from Howe, Josh Blake from Smithville, Hannah Franklin from Stigler and Stephanie Goodwin from Cameron. Also representing Carl Albert State College were President Garry M. Ivey, Regent Carroll Huggins, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jason Morrison, Associate Vice President for Student Life Randy Graves, and Director of Public Relations/Marketing Judi White.
