HOWE—Funeral services for Billy Earl Hudgins, 84, of Howe are Monday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in the Petillo Hills Cemetery in Centerville, Ark.
He was born Jan. 7, 1931 in Fort Smith, Ark. to Earl and May (Allread) Hudgins and worked as a prison guard for the state of Virginia, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart w/cluster, good conduct medal, National Defense service medal, Korean service medal, combat infantryman badge, United Nations service medal, Silver Star; and the Presidential Unit Citation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Glenna Hudgins; and brother, Harvey Hudgins.
Survivors include his children, William Earl and Joalyce Hudgins of Howe, Lavana Lee and Al Bennett of Jonesboro, Tenn. and Harvey Ray and Georgia Hudgins of Rural Retreat, Va.; brother, Bobby Joe Hudgins of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
