KIOWA—Arkoma’s girls stayed alive in their quest for a repeat trip to the state tournament with a 67-50 win over Boswell in the Class A regional consolation championship game here on Saturday.
The Lady Mustangs advanced to the area tournament at Ada. Arkoma will play fourth-ranked Sterling at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sterling lost to 10th-ranked Stonewall, 64-58, on Saturday.
Arkoma jumped ahead 18-6 at the end of the first quarter and outscored Boswell in every quarter.
Kelsi Johnson led the Lady Mustangs with 21 points. Shaylea Whisenhunt added 17, all in the second half with four 3-point baskets in the final quarter. Peytan Lamb scored 12 and Abby Gragg added 10.
Breosha Williams paced Boswell with 22 points, Breah Stewart had 14 and Hailey Belvin finished with 12.
