The larger schools enter regional play on Thursday while the smaller schools go into area play.
For many of the LeFlore County teams still alive, they will be involved in rematches in both the regional and area tournaments.
In Class B, the Bokoshe and Whitesboro girls will try to stay alive in a loser’s bracket game at Colbert. Whitesboro won the first game this year in the Eastern Oklahoma State Tournament while Bokoshe bounced back to win in the LeFlore County Tournament.
They play at 1:30 p.m. with the winner moving closer to a berth in next week’s state tournament.
Arkoma’s girls take on fourth-ranked Sterling in the area tournament at Ada at 1:30 p.m. The Lady Mustangs are shooting for a second-straight trip to the state tournament. Winner plays again on Friday at 1:30 p.m. while the loser is eliminated.
LeFlore’s boys are also in the loser’s bracket of the Class B area tournament at Colbert. The Savages play Tupelo on Thursday at 8 p.m.
Both Poteau teams are in the regional tournament at Fort Gibson. The Lady Pirates are in the loser’s bracket and play at 1:30 p.m. while the Pirates are in the winner’s bracket and must play top-ranked and undefeated Fort Gibson on the Tigers’ home court at 8 p.m.
In the winner’s bracket of the 3A regional, the Heavener and Spiro girls pair off again on Thursday at Spiro. The game is at 6:30 p.m. and is a rematch of the third-place game of the LCT won by Spiro, 45-36.
The winner advances to the regional finals on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Muskogee Civic Center against the winner of the Sequoyah Tahlequah/Wilburton winner. The loser plays on Friday, also in Muskogee, at 1:30 p.m.
Spiro’s boys are also in the winner’s bracket and play Hartshorne at 8 p.m. on Thursday in a rematch. Hartshorne defeated Spiro 61-46 on Dec. 12 in the Wilburton Tournament.
Losers play at 3 p.m. on Friday at Muskogee against the Keys/Antlers winner.
Heavener’s boys play Salina in the loser’s bracket at Spiro at 3 p.m. on Friday. The winner plays again Friday at Muskogee at 8 p.m. against the loser of the Sequoyah Tahlequah/Wilburton loser.
County 2A teams are in regional play at Talihina and Canadian.
In winner’s bracket play at Talihina, the Howe and Pocola girls play at 6:30 p.m. in a rematch of an earlier game won by Howe, 49-29. In the late game, Howe and Talihina pair off for the second time this season at 8 p.m. Howe won the earlier meeting, 41-40.
In the loser’s bracket, Panama’s boys and girls play Canadian. The girls tip off at 1:30 p.m. while the boys play at 3 p.m.
Both Wister teams are in the loser’s bracket at Canadian and will play the hosts. The girls play at 1:30 p.m. with the boys playing at 3 p.m.
The only county team still alive but not playing on Thursday are the Whitesboro boys. The Bulldogs face off against Red Oak in the winner’s bracket of the Class B area tournament on Friday at 8 p.m. at Colbert.
