Sidney Paul “Sid” Spencer, 58, of Heavener passed away on Dec. 30, 2014 in Sallisaw. He was born Jan. 30, 1956 in Levelland, Texas to Sherman and Nellie (Pigg) Spencer, was a longtime resident of Heavener and worked for almost 20 years as a registered nurse at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Talihina.
Memorial service is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
He was preceded in death by his parents.,
He is survived by his wife, Leah, of the home; a daughter, Amanda Arnett and husband Bret of Broken Arrow; two sons, Caleab Spencer and wife Kimberly of Newmarket, N.H., and Wade Spencer and wife Sydnee of Lawton; two sisters, Rhonda Kurvink and Kim Kurvink of McAlester, and Nancy Spencer of Tishomingo; two grandchildren, Ava Arnett and Jaiden Graham; and his mother-in-law, Ina Ruth Vaughn of Wister.
In lieu of flowers the family request the memorials be made to one of the following organizations in his honor: C.A.S.T. www.castforkids.org, Robber’s Cave State Park children’s fishing programs, or Future Fisherman Organization of America.
