SPIRO—The 2015 basketball LeFlore County Tournament finals are now set after Howe’s girls downed Heavener and Arkoma edged Spiro on Friday night.
Howe and Arkoma tip off at 7 p.m. with the Poteau and Spiro boys facing off at approximately 8:30 p.m. See the full story, scores, schedules and more HERE.
In the third-place games, Heavener’s girls play Spiro at 1 p.m. with the Talihina and LeFlore boys hooking up at 2:30 p.m.
The top-seeded Howe girls overcame a slow start and got unwound in the second quarter before putting the game away in the third quarter with a 17-7 advantage to clinch a spot in the championship game.
Howe’s depth started taking effect in the second quarter as the Lady Lions gradually built a commanding lead. Braden Dorsey had 17 points to lead Howe while LuAnn Davis had 10 and Kealy Brandin came off the bench to score nine.
Jodie Hill’s 17 points led Heavener.
