Heavener will finally get a chance to play at home in its newly refurbished gymnasium on Saturday against Idabel.
The girls’ game starts at 2:30 p.m. with the boys to follow.
The gymnasium has a totally new look with chair-back seats on both sides along with new bleachers on the stage at the south end of the gymnasium.
Heavener’s girls are 3-1 while Idabel is 1-4 according to ossaarankings.com. The Wolves are 2-1 and the Warriors are 7-2 and ranked 11th in 3A.
Heavener’s girls won at Wister on Tuesday, 48-23, while the Wolves defeated the Wildcats, 45-35.
Idabel’s boys won the Wilburton Digger Invitational last week with a win over Hartshorne in the finals. The Warriors have defeated Haworth, ranked second in 2A, and have losses to Wright City and McAlester.
Heavener also has a pair of home games over the Christmas break in the Bi-State Festival against Oden, Ark. and Acorn, Ark. on Dec. 29 and 30. Spiro is the fourth team in the festival.
