Heavener Chamber chatter
By MELINDA BALLANTINE
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Christmas parade! Everyone worked so hard to make it the best parade I can remember.
Our overall winner was Hontubby Church. In the business category the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department won first prize, Heavener Manor won second prize and G-Bar Equipment won third prize.
In the church category Lovings Baptist Church won first prize, Trinity Baptist Church won second prize and Forester Baptist Church won third prize. Thank you to our judges Karen Wages, Craig Hall, Troy Dyer and Cecelia Freeman. They did a wonderful job. Everyone was a winner and I thank you all for your enthusiasm.
I want to welcome two new members of the Chamber: Beauty Barn and Paradise Tanning & Fitness Center. We really appreciate your support. Remember, the stronger we are the better things will be.
Just to remind you the Runestone Radio Auction will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with lots of goodies to bid on for everyone. The proceeds help fund daily operation of the Runestone Park and helps support area businesses.
On Sunday, the Holiday Express will be in town at 4:00pm. There will be gifts for the children along with a tour of the train. It is really an experience. I still need five elves to help out. You must be 18 or older and a costume will be provided. If you are interested in helping, please call me at 918-653-4303 or email at [email protected]. I need your help!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all!
